The Work of Many Hands, 2023
A UCL commission as part of ‘Performing Planet Activism’. Collaboration with writer Robert Macfarlane and scientists: Prof of Disaster and Health, Ilan Kelman and Dr Robert Irvine. Performed by Fleet Primary School choir, 4 vocal soloists, Cello and clarinet.
Tricomes, 2022
Composed for Riot Ensemble, co-commissioned by HCMF and BBC Radio 3. Performed at HCMF 2022 and on BBC 3’s New Music Show in December 2022
Picea 433, 2020
Co-commissioned by Riot Ensemble and HCMF UK, this piano piece is performed by Adam Swayne and was part of the online HCMF in November 2020.
The piece follows the life of a 433 year old Spruce tree, the material of the piano soundboard. Subterranean recordings of Spruce tree roots recorded by Tuck Yates Tyrrell are played through the piano strings. Pianist becomes tree, tree becomes piano.
The Swarm, 2016
Choral work for 9 female voices alongside an electronic soundscape composed by Auclair. Narrating the story of a colony of honey bees in search of a new nest.
